Sweetest Time of the Year Celebrated at Matosinhos Chocolate Festival

The Matosinhos Chocolate Festival was a true delight for food lovers. Held in a climate-controlled tent near the City Hall, the event featured 25 exhibitors who showcased various delicacies where chocolate took the main role.
Visitors were spoiled with a wide range of options: crepes, waffles, chocolate marshmallows, chocolate bars, fruit skewers with chocolate, pralines, chocolate fountains, and even hot chocolate. The diversity of chocolate flavours available ensured there was something for every palate.
The event, which took place over two weeks, coincided with the Easter period, providing an even more enriching experience with the presence of traditional chocolate eggs and almonds in various flavours and shapes.
The Chocolate Festival, organized by the Matosinhos City Council in partnership with ANDARTE - National Association for the Development of Crafts, also provided parallel entertainment with workshops and showcookings.
The workshops were intended for children between the ages of 3 and 8, and pre-registration was necessary to ensure participation, due to high demand.
In parallel, free showcookings were provided throughout the event, offering participants a deeper insight into the culinary delights that can be created with chocolate.
Entry to the Chocolate Festival was free, allowing everyone the opportunity to delight in the wonderful experience that the event provided.
