Matosinhos present at the 33rd Lisbon Tourism Exchange

Matosinhos made a strong impression at the 33rd Edition of the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL), which took place at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL). Within an 18m² space located in the promotional stand of the Porto and North of Portugal Regional Tourism Entity (TPNP), in cooperation with the Porto Metropolitan Area, Matosinhos distinguished itself as a unique and distinctive tourist destination, captivating for a stay enriched by unique experiences and encounters.
The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who attended the inauguration of the event, made a point of visiting the Matosinhos stand and personally greeting the team from the City Council. Luís Pedro Martins, president of the TPNP, was also present.
The BTL is recognised as the most prestigious event in the national tourism panorama and enjoys extensive international projection, attracting participants from all parts of the globe. This edition drew a high number of visitors, from associations to municipalities, travel agents, tour operators, and the hospitality, catering, and tourism entertainment sector.
During the five days of the event, Matosinhos presented a diverse programme, showcasing emblematic activities of the municipality, including cooking demonstrations with Chef Hélio Loureiro and Conservas Portugal Norte, beer tastings from Super Bock, historical recreations by the team from the Quinta de Santiago Museum, promotion of industrial tourism and a mini-concert of young talents from the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra. On the stand, there was a hologram of the city's icon, the "She Changes" sculpture, popularly known as the Anemone.
The younger visitors were not forgotten; during the general public period, Matosinhos joined the "Kids Route" with face painting and puzzles on offer.
The tradition of the Matosinhos stand's wheel of fortune continued, offering visitors the opportunity to win gifts and vouchers from various city spaces. A customised Matosinhos photobooth was also provided to capture memorable souvenirs.
The BTL is an excellent platform for Matosinhos to strengthen its presence on the tourist panorama and highlight its undeniable connection with the sea and maritime culture.
